SUMMARY:Nardin Heritage Day
DESCRIPTION:The 2026 Nardin Heritage Day is Saturday\, May 23\, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in downtown Nardin. Admission to the event and museum tours are free. Sales of food and drink or other purchases are cash only\, so be sure to stop by an ATM before arriving. \nThis year’s celebration will be the 49th time Nardin has hosted visitors. Many festivities are planned from a gunfighter show by Guthrie Gunfighters and blacksmith demonstrations to watching a Model T being put together and running in 10 minutes. One of Crow’s sons is in a band called North of 50 that will be providing the western music. There will be plenty of kid-friendly fun including inflatables\, Chester the Clown\, an ice cream shoppe\, and turtle races. \nThe parade starts at 10:30 a.m.; visitors will see antique cars and trucks\, tractors\, horse-drawn vehicles\, mule teams\, bikes\, horse riders\, and floats. \nFollowing the gunfight\, around 11:30 a.m.\, is the lunch feed at the pecan grove that Crow’s dad planted on the west side of Main Street with hamburgers\, polish sausage\, hot dogs and all the trimmings\, homemade pies\, and more for a fee. \nThe general store will be open as well as the saloon\, which will be dispensing ice-cold sarsaparilla. Nardin’s Heritage House will be open too. SUMMARY:Alva's Big Cruise & Car Show
DESCRIPTION:Alva’s car club R.A.C.E. (Racing and Cruising Enthusiasts) will host its 24th annual Big Cruise & Car Show September 19-21 in Alva. This three-day event starts with a free cookout on Friday starting at 5:45 PM\, followed by a car cruise through downtown at 8 PM\, and another cruise alongside the college on U.S. 64 from 8:30-10 PM. \nMany classic and modern cars from throughout region will be on display downtown during the car show from 10 AM to 4:30 PM Saturday. Check out the pinewood derby at 1 PM\, the auto cross at 3 PM\, and the FMX stunt show at 5 PM. Smoke will roll Saturday night downtown during the burnout contest between amateur and pro classes\, 6:40 PM and 8 PM respectively\, then another cruise on the highway starting at 8:30 PM. \nOn Sunday\, start with a free breakfast at 8:30 AM\, then more car show from 9 AM to NOON. At NOON the Fun Run Grudge Race & Battle on Barnes begins; registration is free and open to anyone with the need for speed. Nearly 20 food trucks will be on site.
