DESCRIPTION:Great Salt Plains Stampede Open Rodeo is slated for August 22-23 at Alfalfa County Fairgrounds in Cherokee. Rodeo will begin at 8 PM both Friday and Saturday with stock from Sumner Rodeo Co. of Goltry. Admission is $8 in advance or $10 at the gate. Order “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” rodeo t-shirts by calling (580) 884-0551. Kiddos ages 10 and under can enter the Landon Newlin Memorial Dash for Cash. Rodeo queen\, princess\, and junior princess will be crowned at 7:30 PM. Rodeo parade is slated for Saturday at 10 AM. Cherokee Roundup Club annually hosts the rodeo and the concessions.
