DESCRIPTION:Waynoka Main Street will host its first ever Waynoka Renaissance Festival Sept. 20-21 in Elm Park\, not far from U.S. 281 at the corner of Broadway and Park in Waynoka. Festivities will be held 10 AM to 7 PM on Saturday and 10 AM to 5 PM on Sunday. Tickets are $5 per person per day at the gate or $8 for a two-day wristband purchased in advance. Family packs of 4 two-day wristbands are $25. \nAmong the entertainment for this inaugural Northwest Oklahoma two-day renaissance festival are Knights of the Vale jousters\, the Celtic pub band Black Oak Shillelagh\, Noah’s Bladeworks with a running forge and blacksmithing\, wildlife biologist Tandy Keenan with live snake demonstrations\, Nam & Pops inflatable bounce houses and games\, belly dancers\, jewelry making\, tarot readings\, photo booth\, period piece vendors\, and food trucks.

DESCRIPTION:Following the annual local tradition of rounding up Diamondback rattlesnake\, Gypsum Rock rattler\, Prairie rattler\, and other snakes in the area\, there will be a ceremony where captured snakes are measured and weighed. Prizes will be awarded for the longest snake captured alive\, the most pounds caught and for the most rattles on the end of a rattler. Then there will be an auction where the longer snakes are auctioned off to the highest bidder. \nNot into snake hunting? Head to Waynoka’s downtown square for vendor booths\, food booths\, carnival rides\, or the flea market. Plus watch the Den of Death where skilled snake handlers put on a show with live snakes.
